About The Course
Using our studio as a base this short course will immerse you in the process of what it is to produce a still life oil painting. From flowers, flask, fruit to coffee pots explore the art of infusing depth, vibrant colours and character into your works while developing your own personal style.
This course provides a simple step by step tutoring guide on techniques, composition and painting in high quality oil paint amongst carefully selected still life installations and subject matter.
If you’ve ever been gripped with the nuances of light and shadow, pondered the challenges of colour manipulation or just contemplated how to make the mundane marvellous then this course will open your mind.

On Completion Of The Course You Will
– Understand composition and scales
– Gain confidence in tones scales perspective and depth
– Have and understanding of brush selection.
– Awareness colour mixing and manipulation of paint
– Engage in preliminary sketches to check composition
– A better Understanding of history of still life painting and painters
involved in the discipline
– Have a series of art studies and sketches in various media including
a still oil painting on canvas.
This step by step course designed to carry you gently through a process of techniques to provide solid foundation in still life painting for both beginner and intermediate artists.
About The Artist
Richard is an English artist and has over 25 years’ experience in the creative art industries.
His work centres largely in landscape oil painting as a preferred discipline but he also practices oil still life and life painting as-well as exploring other alternative mediums.
