Taught by the founder of Artlife Sarah Thomas – These fashion courses are structured towards young artists aged 10+ who are looking to learn about the fashion industry. Simple step by step tutoring with practical exercises are designed to help them understand this wonderful craft, all provided in our beautiful studio setting.

This  course will immerse students in the world of fashion, using drawing techniques, textiles, and practical exercises along with insights into the famous fashion designers who used them.

All students will work towards  learning how to design. This is a great way to expand a young artists self direction by learning from a professional fashion designer as well as contributing more variety to their own portfolio and developing their own personal style.

This Course Is Suited To

-Students aged between 10+ with an interest in fashion / including beginners.
-Students considering further education in art/design/textiles/fashion
-Students looking to explore the fashion world and meet other young creatives.

This Course Includes

During this 5 week course we will be drawing inspiration from various famous fashion icons past and present. Simple fun structured exercises designed to focus on techniques and fabric manipulation will be explored to capture the essence of the designers craft. Students will learn how to develop ideas, working on the stand and explore some basic pattern cutting.

• Design how to develop a 2D design to 3D

An established fashion designer with her own brand and over 29 years’ experience in the creative sector, Sarah has also lectured at leading UK art universities. She founded the studio to challenge the lack of creativity in mainstream education, now wanting to bring a fashion-industry mindset into her offering.  She leads the school’s unique teaching methods, focused on nurturing natural creativity and confident, self-led learning for students of all ages.
