As a gesture of goodwill, we offer one make-up class per 6-week block to support our students. This runs on the 3rd Saturday of every block.
About the course
Using our studio as a base this short course will immerse you in using oils to unlock texture and depth in your Landscapes. During this 6 week course we will be exploring and drawing inspiration from various famous artists both classical and contemporary fascinated by the beautiful effects of light created by the moon under nightfall . Simple fun structured exercises designed to focus on the light techniques and paint effects of these artists will be explored to understand painting architectural form and structure. Drawing and learning from these approaches we will then apply them to our own final interpretation of a city landscape.
Explore the art of infusing depth, vibrant colours and character into your works while developing your own personal style. Simple step by step tutoring on preparing and composing your artwork using depth and perspective to enhance your landscapes and captivate viewers . If you’ve ever been gripped by the beauty of our skies and their effects on our landscapes or pondered the challenges of colour manipulation then this course will open your mind.
This Course Is Suited To
-Students aged between 10 and 15 with a passion for oil painting / including beginners.
-Students considering further education in art.
-Students looking to explore fun art exercises and meet other young creatives.
MARVELLOUS MOONLIGHT Painting Nightlight
During this course, be will be exploring and drawing inspiration from the various artists past and present by focusing on the beautiful moonlit landscapes, light and paint control produced by artists including J,M.W Turner , John Atkinson Grimshaw and Rene Magritte.
Drawing from their influences and technical mark making we will introduce brush work in simple exercises to capture the style of their great works. These simple structured fun studies will help gain an understanding and insight into these artists culminating in your own final interpretation nightlight moonscape painting influenced by these masters.

About the artist
Richard is an English artist who has over 25 year’s experience within the creative arts.The Lightbound Artist (www.thelightboundartist.co.uk) tells of his own personal journey over the years.
Through landscapes in both the UK and aboard he tells a story through en plein air painting that captures the marvellous and melancholic effects of nature during brief moments of time.
